Seven Scientific Facts Testify that Muhammad is Sincere

Seven Scientific Facts Testify that Muhammad (PBUH) is Science:

*
In this research we will demonstrate some scientific facts which had been mentioned in the prophet sayings (Hadith), as modern science proved that these facts are true ….

The most beautiful moments in the life of the believer when he see a miracle in the sayings of the prophet (Peace be upon him), we are in the era of science and scientific explorations, so we have to make some searching in his sayings to realize these scientific signs which testify that prophet Mohamed (Peace be upon him) is sincere. This research may make a good contribution to correct west vision about that illiterate prophet (Peace be upon him).

First Fact
Prophet Mohamed says to his companions :(this subject will reach all places the same as night and day) which means that Islam will spread to reach all places the same as night and day reach every place on earth . Indeed, today statistics says that religion of Islam is in every place in the world!! As these statistics says that by the year 2025 , Islam will be the first religion all over the world according to number of followers ,  this is not an exaggerated saying with no doubt these numbers are real , as these figures came from non Muslim

scientists.
Statistical experts confirm that Islam is the fastest growing religion and there are Muslims in all countries all over the world but with different ratios. The question, isn’t this the same as what prophet Mohamed said to his companions 1400 years ago?

Second Fact
The prophet said (ground was made for me as a place to prayer and also a method to be pure) [Narrated by Muslim]. in a new research scientists discovered that there are Antibiotics in the soil of earth , these Antibiotics can clean up and kill the most obstinate kind of bacteria , which prove that soil is a Disinfectant. In a new study scientists said that there are some kinds of soil which can remove the most obstinate kind of bacteria. Today, scientists are looking for manufacturing a killer for the most obstinate kind of bacteria extracted from soil. After many tests in laboratory they found that during 24 hour soil can remove an entire colony of bacteria but the same colony had multiplied 45 times without

mud.
Scientists discovered that soil contains antibiotics, and without this feature life would not continue because of viruses and bacteria that may reach human and may eliminate his life and destroy him, but god with his mercy put the cleansing feature to ensure the continuation of our life. We have to thank god for this blessing.

Third Fact
Prophet Mohamed spoke very carefully about a scientific fact realized by scientists few years ago. He said ( God will not held day of resurrection unless Arab land returns  greens and rivers again ) [Narrated by Muslim.] scientifically, it was proved that one day the Arabian peninsula was full of greens and rivers  as satellite photos  confirm that there are  buried rivers under the sand of Arab land , one of the great scientists of the American space agency (NASA) says that the taken photos for the desert had shown that one day this area was covered with rivers and lakes like Europe and one day  in the future it will back again like the past.

NASA scientists confirms that one day  desert of Rub ' Al Khali and the Arabian Peninsula was covered with rivers, forests and animals and they confirm that this land will back again like the past , as referenced by the prophetic Hadith.

Fourth Fact
The Prophetic Hadith about the straight way in Day of Resurrection is considered to be one of the scientific miracles in the prophetic Sunnah. In this Hadith the prophet says:( don't you see that the lightning comes and back in an eye blink) [Narrated by Muslim] .there is complete identification between our prophet saying and the most recent discovery concerning the lightning flash as scientists had found that the lightning flash happens when a ray of lightning get out of the cloud toward the ground and back again to the cloud!  In that Hadith a sign that prophet
Mohamed (Peace be upon him) talked very carefully about phases of the lightning, and also he determined the time as it is the time of an eye blink!
Scientists had found that lightning has many phases and the most important phases are going down phase and going back phase.  Time of the lightning flash is 25 Fraction of a second and this is the same as time of eye blink, isn't this the same as what prophet Mohamed said 1400 years ago?

Fifth fact
Recently, scientists had discovered that forelock area (upper and front of the brain)  controls right decisions making, so as long as this are is active and efficient ,the taken decisions would be more accurate and wise .prophet Mohamed (Peace be upon him) says in his supplication (oh god, my forelock is between your hand) [Narrated by Ahmed].in this supplication there is a full submission from the prophet to his god be he exalted as god is controlling  however he wants and is predetermining whatever he wants . Also scientists discovered that forelock area plays a vital role in realizing, steering, problem solving and creation. So that prophet Mohamed had submitted this area for his god.
After long studies for brain activities, scientists had discovered that the most important area is the forelock (forepart of the head ) as this area is responsible for creation and steering operations so prophet Mohamed (Peace be upon him) confirms that this area is so important , and this is a miracle which testify that  the prophet is sincere . How could he know about that issue in a time when no one knows anything about it? God taught him all of that as god says: (and taught you that which you knew not. And Ever Great is the Grace of Allah unto you) (An-Nisa'- verse 113)

Sixth Fact
Prophet Mohamed (Peace be upon him) said: (one of the signs of day of resurrection is the sudden death) [Narrated by AlTabarani]. Certainly, in this Hadith there is a scientific miracle concerning a medical fact which considered being a testimony that Mohamed is god's prophet. United Nations statistics confirms that phenomenon of sudden death appeared in recent days and is increasing despite all preventive procedures.
Heart doctors confirm that phenomenon of sudden death spread considerably in the last few years, despite the development in medicine and number of dead people by this phenomenon are increasing. Isn't this the same as what was indicated in the prophetic Hadith?

Seventh Fact
Most of scientists confirm that Senility is the best natural end for human, and any attempt to prolong life above certain limit will cause many effects, one of these effects is cancer. "Lee silver" from Princeton, theAmerican University says:" any attempt to reach immortality is an opposite way against nature". So, it was useless to spend money to treat senility as the spent money was about millions of Dollars. this is the same as what prophet Mohamed (Peace be upon him) said :(oh you ,slaves of God you have to treat yourselves from ills ,  as each ill has a treatment except Senility , it has no treatment.) [Narrated by Ahmed]
So science gives us some new facts to verify and prove the truthfulness of the prophet and message of Islam.

Prophet Mohammad's (PBUH) Miracles

Signs about Prophet Mohammad before becoming a Prophet

- The night Prophet Mohammad (s.a.a.w.s.) was conceived by his parents, all the idols of Mecca were thrown down on the ground. Angels cast the throne of Iblis (Satan) into the sea and Satan was tormented for forty days.
- The night our Prophet (s.a.a.w.s.) was born:
    (a) The Palace of Qisra (King of Persia) trembled and its fourteen towers fell down.
    (b) The flames of the fire-worshippers, the Majus (Zoroastrians) went out, though that fire had been burning for more than a thousand years, never extinguished.
- Prophet Muhammad's birth corresponds with the Year of the Elephant, which is named after the failed destruction of Mecca that year by the Aksumite King Abraha who had in his army many elephants.
- When Prophet Muhammad (s.a.a.w.s.) was either nine or twelve  years old while accompanying a Meccans caravan to Syria, he met a Christian monk or hermit named Bahira who foretold Muhammad (s.a.a.w.s.) that he was going to be a prophet of God.

Prophet Mohammad's Miracles

Prophet Mohammad (s.a.a.w.s) performed several miracles, such as:

1. Israa & Miraj - Night Journey to Jerusalem and then to Heaven
Another great miracle is Israa & Miraj which is Prophet Mohammad's journey overnight from Mecca to Jerusalem and then to Heaven. He met with all the previous prophets, including Jesus & Moses, and he had the honor of being chosen as the leader of a prayer that was attended by all prophets.
Narrated by Ibn Abbas, in Sahih al-Bukhari Volume 4, Book 54, Number 462:
The Prophet said, "On the night of my Ascent (Mi’raj) to Heaven, I saw Moses who was a tall, brown, curly-haired man as if he was one of the men of Shan'awa tribe, and I saw Jesus, a man of medium height and fair complexion inclined to the red and white colors and of lank hair. I also saw Malik, the gate-keeper of the (Hell) Fire and the Ad-Dajjal (Anti-Christ) amongst the signs which Allah showed me." (The Prophet then recited the Quranic Verse): "So be not you in doubt of meeting him' when you met Moses during the night of Mi'raj (ascent) to the heavens" (Quran 32:23)

2. Splitting of the Moon
The unbelievers asked Prophet Mohammad (s.a.a.w.s) for physical miracle, so he split the moon, by the will of God, into two haves by a gesture of his index finger. One half of the moon appeared behind a mountain and the other one in front of it.

3. Survival of Prophet Mohammad after Being Poisoned
A Jewish woman invited him to eat a meal and put poison in his food. He ate and felt poison and told her that she could not with her poison kill him. Indeed, he survived about 13 years after that incident.

4. Spider's Web
After he fled Mecca, his enemies went after him. So, he, and his closest companion Abu Bakr, hid in a cave. He enemies reached the opening of the cave, but the enemies did not enter the cave because they noticed a spider’s web covering the opening of the cave, so they thought that it was impossible for Mohammad to have entered that cave. This miracle is mentioned in the Quran.

5. Food Multiplication
Sahih al-Bukhari Volume 4, Book 56, Number 780:
Narrated by Jabir:
My father died in debt. So I came to the Prophet and said, "My father left unpaid debts, and I have nothing (to pay back the debt), except the yield of his Date Palm Trees; and their yield for many years will not cover his debt. So please come with me (to meet the creditors), so that the creditors may not misbehave with me." The Prophet went around one of the heaps of dates and invoked (Allah’s) blessings, and then did the same with another heap and sat on it and said, "Weigh (the dates)." He (Prophet Mohammad) paid them (the debtors) what they were entitled to and what remained was as much as had been paid to them.

6. Water Multiplication
Sahih al-Bukhari Volume 4, Book 56, Number 779:
Narrated by Abdullah:
Once we were with Allah's Messenger (Prophet Mohammad) on a journey, and we ran short of water. He said, "Bring the water remaining with you." The people brought a container which had little water left. He placed his hand in it and said, "Come to the blessed water, and the Blessing is from Allah." I saw the water flowing from among the fingers of Allah's Messenger, and no doubt, we heard the meal glorifying Allah, when it was being eaten (by him).

Sahih al-Bukhari Volume 4, Book 56, Number 777:
Narrated by Al-Bara:
We were one-thousand-and-four-hundred (1400) persons on the day of Al-Hudaibiya (Treaty). (At) Al-Hudaibiya, (there) was a well. We drew out its water, not leaving even a single drop. The Prophet sat at the edge of the well and asked for some water, with which he rinsed his mouth. Then he threw it out into the well. We stayed for a short while. Then, we drew water from the well and quenched our thirst.  Even our riding animals drank water to their satisfaction.

Sahih al-Bukhari Volume 1, Book 7, Number 340:
Narrated by Imran:
Once we were traveling with the Prophet …. After he (Prophet Mohammad) finished the prayer, he saw a man sitting alone who had not prayed with the people. He asked, "O so and so! What has prevented you from praying with us?" He replied, "I am Junub (impure because he ejaculated semen, usually involuntarily during sleep) and there is no water. " The Prophet said, "Perform Tayammum with (clean) earth and that is sufficient for you."
Then the Prophet proceeded on and the people complained to him of thirst. Thereupon, he (the Prophet) got down and called a person (the narrator 'Auf added that Abu Raja' had named him but he forgot his name) and 'Ali, and ordered them to go and bring water.
So, they went in search of water and met a woman who was sitting on her camel between two bags of water. They asked, "Where can we find water?" She replied, "I was there (at the place of water) this hour yesterday and my people are behind me."
They requested from her to accompany them. She asked, "Where?" They said, "To Allah's Messenger." She said, "Do you mean the man who is called the Sabi, (with a new religion)?" They replied, "Yes, the same person, so come along."
They brought her to the Prophet and narrated the whole story. He said, "Help her to dismount." The Prophet asked for a pot, then he opened the mouths of the water bags and poured some water into the pot. Then he closed the big openings of the bags and opened the small ones and the people were called upon to drink and water their animals. So they all watered their animals and they (too) all quenched their thirst and also gave water to others and last of all, the Prophet gave a pot full of water to the person who was Junub and told him to pour it over his body.
The woman was standing and watching all what they were doing with her water. By Allah, when her water bags were returned, they seemed to be more full (of water) than they had been before (Miracle of Allah's Messenger).
Then, the Prophet ordered us to collect something for her; so dates, flour and Sawiq were collected which amounted to a good meal that was put in a piece of cloth. She was helped to ride on her camel and that cloth full of food-stuff was also placed in front of her and then the Prophet said to her, "We have not taken your water, but Allah has given water to us."
She returned home late. Her relatives asked her: "O so and so what has delayed you?" She said, "A strange thing! Two men met me and took me to the man who is called the Sabi' and he did such and such a thing. By Allah, he is either the greatest magician between this and this (gesturing with her index and middle fingers raising them towards the sky, indicating the heaven and the earth) or he is Allah's true Messenger."
Afterwards the Muslims used to attack the pagans around her abode, but never touched her village. One day she said to her people, "I think that these people leave you purposely. Have you got any inclination to Islam?" They obeyed her and all of them embraced Islam.
… Abul 'Ailya said, "The Sabis are a sect of people of the Scripture who recite the Book of Psalms."

7. Supplication for Rain
Sahih al-Bukhari Volume 8, Book 73, Number 115:
Narrated by Anas bin Malik:
A man came to the Prophet on a Friday, while he (the Prophet) was delivering a sermon in Medina, and said, "There is lack of rain, so please invoke your Lord to bless us with rain." The Prophet looked at the sky when no cloud could be detected. Then, he invoked Allah for rain. Clouds started gathering together and it rained till the Medina valleys started flowing with water. It continued raining till the next Friday. Then, that man (or some other man) stood up while the Prophet was delivering the Friday sermon, and said, "We are drowned; Please invoke your Lord to withhold it (rain) from us." The Prophet smiled and said twice or thrice, "O Allah! Please let it rain around us and not upon us." The clouds started dispersing over Medina to the right and to the left, and it rained around Medina and not upon Medina. Allah showed them (the people) the miracle of His Prophet and His response to his invocation.

8. Lights to Guide Prophet Mohammad’s Companions
Sahih al-Bukhari Volume 1, Book 8, Number 454:
Narrated by Anas bin Malik:
Once, on a dark night, two of the companions of the Prophet departed (after a meeting with the prophet) and were led by two lights like lamps (from the sky) lighting the road in front of them. And, when they parted (from each other), each of them was accompanied by one of these lights till he reached his house.

9. Crying of the Trunk of the Date Palm Tree
Sahih al-Bukhari Volume 4, Book 56, Number 783:
Narrated by Ibn Umar:
The Prophet used to deliver his sermons while standing beside (or leaning on) a trunk of a Date Palm tree. When he had the pulpit made, he used it (the pulpit) instead (of the Date Palm tree). The trunk (of the tree) started crying/weeping (grieving out of love for the prophet) and the Prophet approached it, rubbing his hand over it (to sooth it and stop its crying/weeping).
Comment: This story indicates that people actually heard the truck of the tree crying/weeping.

10. A Wolf Speaks and Recognizes Mohammad as of a Messenger of Allah
Sahih al-Bukhari Volume 3, Book 39, Number 517:
Narrated by Unais bin 'Amr:
Ahban bin Aus said, "I was amongst my sheep. Suddenly a wolf caught a sheep and I screamed at it (the wolf). The wolf sat on its tail and addressed me, saying, 'Who will look after it (i.e. the sheep) when you are busy and not able to look after it? Do you forbid me the provision which Allah has provided me?' Ahban added, "I clapped my hands and said, 'By Allah, I have never seen anything more interesting and wonderful than this!' On that, the wolf said, 'There is something more (interesting and) wonderful than this; that is, Allah's Messenger… inviting people to Allah (i.e. Islam).' "Unais bin 'Amr added, "Then Ahban went to Allah's Messenger and informed him what happened and embraced Islam.)"

11. The Quran: Prophet Mohammad's Greatest Miracle
Muslims consider the Quran to be the greatest miracle of prophet Mohammad, even though, the Quran is authored by Allah, not prophet Mohammad.

The Qur'an is miraculous in a number of aspects: (a) its linguistic perfection and inimitability, (b) its validation by recent historical, archaeological, and scientific discoveries, (c) its prophecies and so on, and (d) unlike the miracles of other prophets before him, the miracle of the Qur'an is eternal.
The Quran (can also be spelled as Qur'an or Koran) is the holy scripture of Muslims. The Quran states that the name of God's religion is Islam and it refers to its followers as Muslims.
The Quran started to be revealed by God to Prophet Mohammad through arch-angel Gabriel, when he was 40 years old, around year 610 AD. It was revealed gradually, few verses at a time, over a period of about 23 years. The Quran is a very unique book that differs from the Bible in many ways. Unlike the Bible which supposedly contains the sayings of Jesus and other writings which Christians believe were inspired by God, the Quran is the "literal" word of God. We mean that the words in the Quran are the exact words of God. Therefore, the author of the Quran is God himself. Furthermore, also unlike the Bible, the Quran does not contain the sayings of Prophet Mohammad, nor does it contain an account of Prophet Mohammad's life.
God in the Quran promises clearly to protect the Quran from corruption. Indeed, God has protected the Quran. The Quran has remained the same. All the verses that were revealed to prophet Mohammad by angel Gabriel are included in the Quran that is available today. The Quran was revealed in Arabic language and Muslims consider only the Arabic Quran to be the Word of God and any translation of the Quran to other languages are mere translations of the Quran to people who do not understand Arabic language because translations are authored by ordinary human beings whereas the Arabic Quran is authored by God. Therefore, those translations are not considered by Muslim as a Word of God or holy scriptures. The 5 daily prayers of Muslims are in Arabic (most of what is said by Muslims during a prayer consist of reciting verses from the Quran). However, Muslims are not required to be able to speak Arabic, other than learning to utter few sentences in Arabic that are part of regular prayers.
The Quran states that the Quran, in by itself, is the most important miracle that Prophet Mohammad has brought to humanity. Since Prophet Mohammad was intended to be the last prophet and the Quran was the last message, God decided to give people a unique miracle that can be examined and experienced by not only people who lived at the time of the prophet, but for the hundreds of years to come. So, it was natural for God to choose Quran to be such a miracle.
That is why the Arabic Quran is a unique miracle. The only book in the world authored by God himself, word by word, and that is still available today in its original form. People throughout the Ages have wondered whether they can see God or something that can be attributed directly to God. The Quran is the answer. It is available today for all humans to experience how God expresses himself in words. The Quran is a book of knowledge with a uniquely captivating style, in which every verse is a sign from God. Each word used in the Arabic Quran was uniquely chosen by God for a purpose. You can not add or subtract a word to/from the Quran, without the corruption becoming noticeable. Scholars have discovered some  hidden logic structures (codes) in the Quran that prove its authenticity and help in protecting its integrity from corruption.

The Quran contains lots of scientific knowledge that have only been known recently which were totally unknown and could not have been discovered at the time of prophet Mohammad. For more information about how modern science authenticates the validity of the divine source of the Quran, please feel free to visit the section of our site entitled Quran & Science where you will find videos, full-length books about this topic.

Prophet Muhammad(P) also provided us through his Hadith (sayings) with a number of prophecies about future events.

I wanted to know the best of the life of one who holds today an undisputed sway over the hearts of millions of mankind... I became more than ever convinced that it was not the sword that won a place for Islam in those days in the scheme of life. It was the rigid simplicity, the utter self-effacement of the Prophet the scrupulous regard for pledges, his intense devotion to his friends and followers, his intrepidity, his fearlessness, his absolute trust in God and in his own mission. These and not the sword carried everything before them and surmounted every obstacle. When I closed the second volume (of the Prophet's biography), I was sorry there was not more for me to read of that great life.

How, for instance, can any other appeal stand against that of the Moslem who, in approaching the pagan, says to him, however obscure or degraded he may be 'Embrace the faith, and you are at once equal and a brother.' Islam knows no color line.

He was Caesar and Pope in one; but he was Pope without Pope's pretensions, Caesar without the legions of Caesar: without a standing army, without a bodyguard, without a palace, without a fixed revenue; if ever any man had the right to say that he ruled by the right divine, it was Mohammed, for he had all the power without its instruments and without its supports.

It has been a great pleasure for me to help clarify statements in the Qur’aan about human development. It is clear to me that these statements must have come to Muhammad from God, or 'Allah', because almost all of this knowledge was not discovered until many centuries later. This proves to me that Muhammad must have been a messenger of Allah.
- Prof. Keith Moore
One of the world’s prominent scientists of Anatomy and Embryology, University of Toronto,Canada.

Thinking about many of these questions and thinking where Muhammad came from, he was after all a bedouin. I think it is almost impossible that he could have known about things like the common origin of the universe, because scientists have only found out within the last few years with very complicated and advanced technological methods that this is the case.
- Prof. Alfred Kroner
One of the world’s most famous geologist

It seems to me that Muhammad was a very ordinary man. He could not read or write. In fact, he was illiterate. We are talking about 1400 years ago. You have someone who was illiterate making profound pronouncement and statements and are amazingly accurate about scientific nature. I personally cannot see how this could be mere chance. There are too many accuracy’s and, like Dr. Moore, I have no difficulty in my mind in concerning that this is a divine inspiration or revelation which led him to these statements.
- Dr. T.V.N. Persaud Professor of Anatomy and Head of the Department of Anatomy, and a professor of Pediatrics and Child Health, University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Since the Prophet Muhammad could neither read nor write, Muhammad must be a messenger who relayed this truth which was revealed to him as an enlightenment by the One Who is an eligible Creator. This Creator must be Allah, or Allah. Therefore, I think this is the time to say ‘Laa ilaaha illallah’, that there is no Allah to worship except Allah, ‘Muhammad Rasool Allah’, Muhammad is messenger of Allah...

Formerly Head of the Department of Anatomy and Embryology at the University of Shiang Mai inThailand. He is now the Dean of the College of the Medicine at the University rofessor of Anatomy.

The personality of Muhammad, it is most difficult to get into the whole truth of it. Only a glimpse of it I can catch. What a dramatic succession of picturesque scenes! There is Muhammad, the Prophet. There is Muhammad, the Warrior; Muhammad, the Businessman; Muhammad, the Statesman; Muhammad, the Orator; Muhammad, the Reformer; Muhammad, the Refuge of Orphans; Muhammad, the Protector of Slaves; Muhammad, the Emancipator of Women; Muhammad, the Judge; Muhammad, the Saint. All in all these magnificent roles, in all these departments of human activities, he is alike a hero." ... Muhammad is the "Perfect model for human life.”
- Prof. Ramakrishna Rao
Muhammad the Prophet of Islam

I have always held the religion of Muhammad in high estimation because of its wonderful vitality. It is the only religion which appears to me to possess that assimilating capacity to the changing phase of existence which can make itself appeal to every age. I have studied him - the wonderful man and in my opinion for from being an anti-Christ, he must be called the Saviour of Humanity. I believe that if a man like him were to assume the dictatorship of the modern world, he would succeed in solving its problems in a way that would bring it the much needed peace and happiness: I have prophesied about the faith of Muhammad that it would be acceptable to the Europe of tomorrow as it is beginning to be acceptable to the Europe of today.
- George Bernard Shaw
The Genuine Islam, Vol. 1, No. 81936
My choice of Muhammad to lead the list of the world's most influential persons may surprise some readers and may be questioned by others, but he was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both the religious and secular level.
- Michael H. Hart
The 100: A Ranking Of The Most Influential Person In History, New York: Hart Publishing Company, Inc., 1978, p. 33.

People like Pasteur and Salk are leaders in the first sense. People like Gandhi and Confucius, on one hand, and Alexander, Caesar and Hitler on the other, are leaders in the second and perhaps the third sense. Jesus and Buddha belong in the third category alone. Perhaps the greatest leader of all times was Mohammed, who combined all three functions. To a lesser degree, Moses did the same.
- Professor Jules Masserman

It is impossible for anyone who studies the life and character of the great Prophet of Arabia, who knows how he taught and how he lived, to feel anything but reverence for that mighty Prophet, one of the great messengers of the Supreme. And although in what I put to you I shall say many things which may be familiar to many, yet I myself feel whenever I re-read them, a new way of admiration, a new sense of reverence for that mighty Arabian teacher.
- Annie Besant
’The Life And Teachings Of Muhammad’, Madras, 1932, p. 4.

He was the most faithful protector of those he protected, the sweetest and most agreeable in conversation. Those who saw him were suddenly filled with reverence; those who came near him loved him; they who described him would say, "I have never seen his like either before or after." He was of great taciturnity, but when he spoke it was with emphasis and deliberation, and no one could forget what he said...
- Lane Poole
'Speeches and Table Talk of the Prophet Muhammad'

His military triumphs awakened no pride nor vain glory as they would have done had they been effected by selfish purposes. In the time of his greatest power he maintained the same simplicity of manner and appearance as in the days of his adversity. So far from affecting regal state, he was displeased if, on entering a room, any unusual testimonial of respect was shown to him.
- Washington Irving
'Life of Muhammad,’ New York, 1920

Like almost every major prophet before him, Muhammad fought shy of serving as the transmitter of God’s word sensing his own inadequacy. But the Angel commanded ‘Read’. So far as we know, Muhammad was unable to read or write, but he began to dictate those inspired words which would soon revolutionize a large segment of the earth: "There is one God"."
“In all things Muhammad was profoundly practical. When his beloved son Ibrahim died, an eclipse occurred and rumors of God 's personal condolence quickly arose. Whereupon Muhammad is said to have announced, ‘An eclipse is a phenomenon of nature. It is foolish to attribute such things to the death or birth of a human being'."
“At Muhammad's own death an attempt was made to deify him, but the man who was to become his administrative successor killed the hysteria with one of the noblest speeches in religious history: ‘If there are any among you who worshiped Muhammad, he is dead. But if it is God you Worshiped, He lives for ever'.
- James Michener
